Biofuel
ReenBio is at the forefront of sustainable biofuel production, utilising proprietary dual pathway biosynthesis technology to convert agricultural residues into high-performance, drop-in biofuel blends. Our biofuels offer a viable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible alternative to fossil fuels.
Dual Pathway Biosynthesis from Agricultural Residues
Our breakthrough dual pathway biosynthesis platform combines two complementary metabolic pathways — the mevalonate (MVA) pathway and the methylerythritol phosphate (MEP) pathway — to maximise conversion efficiency of lignocellulosic biomass from agricultural residues such as rice straw, sugarcane bagasse, corn stover, and wheat husks into advanced biofuel molecules.
This unique approach enables:
- Higher yields from the same feedstock compared to single-pathway approaches
- Broader substrate flexibility — effective processing of mixed agricultural waste streams
- Reduced carbon footprint — up to 80% reduction in lifecycle GHG emissions vs. fossil fuels
- Cost competitiveness through optimised enzymatic pretreatment and fermentation conditions
